Andy Perrott is the President and principal Executive Producer at Lightship Entertainment. For the past eighteen years, Andy has been developing and producing reality series and specials for high-profile companies including Disney, ABC, Lifetime Television, Hearst Broadcasting, and Discovery Communications. In the early part of his career, Andy served as a producer during the start-up of Hearst Broadcasting Productions (currently Hearst-Argyle Productions) in Boston. There he produced series for cable networks, including Lifetime Television and Travel Channel. After his success with Hearst, Lifetime Television relocated Andy to New York where he served as a Production Executive and Executive Producer for many of the network?s in-house reality series including Girls' Night Out (comedy series), Carly Simon Live at Grand Central (music special), and The Soap Opera Update MVP Awards (prime time awards show). After Lifetime, Andy was recruited by the Walt Disney Company as a Development Executive and Executive Producer where he oversaw the development and production of both series and specials based at Walt Disney World. Andy left Disney in 1999 to establish Lightship Entertainment. Under Andy's supervision, the company has produced more than a dozen documentary style prime time shows for Travel Channel and Discovery Channel on various subjects ranging from the thrill rides at Walt Disney World to the latest innovations in concept car design. The company also produced a 65 episode studio-based series entitled Petsburgh, USA for the Animal Planet network as well as a story-driven series on dog training entitled Good Dog U. More recently, Lightship produced a segment for "The Lion King" international DVD release, twelve syndicated short programs for Buena Vista Television, and a commercial for Pepsi. The company was also tapped to produce a high profile segment for Freemantle/19 Entertainment that aired on American Idol. In December of 2008, Lightship wrapped production for the seventh consecutive year on the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade for ABC. This two hour multi camera network special was produced at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland and featured performances by Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Andrea Bocelli, Jonas Brothers, Sarah Brightman, Ryan Seacrest, Regis Philbin, and Kelly Ripa. The special has been nominated for four consecutive years and was recently honored with the Emmy Award for best special.
